Eldon Hamilton is a local name familiar to many in the Frontenac’s.
A soft spiritual man with a strong political awareness, form
a solid reputation.
Taking a break is seldom considered by Eldon as organizations
continue to demand his time and expertise. It was with this
same energetic style that Eldon pioneered the Frontenac ATV
Club. He envisioned ATV’s vying for a place in our municipalities
recreational path.
In the early days Eldon, with a handful of others formed what
was known as the South Frontenac ATV club. In a very short time
the club had in excess of 200 members. Eldon’s dream was
to see ATV’ing develop into a family sport with properly
organized ATV outings. It was at this stage he and the others
set out to develop a plan. This evolution of this plan was to
………….
Promote and develop ATV trails, accessing routes with maps.
Promote
new trails through other clubs and municipal roads for greater
access.
Promote
the safe use of ATV’s by adults and children , who are
eligible, through training.
Encouraging everyone to follow the Provincial
laws under the Motor Vehicle Traffic act.
Improve the Public image of ATV users by encouraging ATV riders
to be considerate and courteous
while riding
Encourage
environmental clean up of garbage on ATV trails and roadways.
Eventually the sport began to grow even stronger. It was at
this point some of the club members ventured off to their
own municipality to form what is known today as the Napanee
& District ATV Club.
Our Clubs have now partnered with Ottawa Valley ATV Club,
Outback ATV Club, Marmora ATV Club and the Eastern Ontario
Trails Alliance, working in harmony to promote greater interest
in ATV riding in and around our Municipalities.
Through ups and downs Eldon continued to press on surrounding
himself with the people he needed to push forward. We as a
club ask that you not stand by and wait for Eldon. Trail development
is expensive. Show Eldon he was right. Support him by joining
today!

Staff Fowler,
Just an update on this event. The club held the most well-organized
a.t.v. event I have ever encountered. Bill Cuthill and Eldon
Hamilton of the S. Frontenac A.T.V. Club are to be commended
for their efforts in ensuring rider safety and compliance
with the respective laws. The route was well planned and marked.
The club checked every rider for a licence, ownership and
insurance. They ensured that no one carried passengers. (If
they continue to self-police themselves like this, I may be
out of a job! ha!) I would appreciate if you would pass my
comments on to Twp. Council at the next meeting.
Also, Cst. Ted Meisner and Cst. Jay Singh were present and
did an excellent job. Many thanks to them.
