The History of Our Club:

Eldon Hamilton is a name familiar to many in the Frontenac County. A soft spiritual man with a strong political awareness. Eldon seldom considers taking a break as organizations continue to ask for his time and expertise. It was with this same energetic style that Eldon pioneered the South Frontenac ATV Club. The Club's dream was to see ATV recreational use develop into a family sport with well organized activities. It was at this early stage that the Frontenac ATV Club developed key objectives ...

Promote Safety and Respect for the Environment.

Form Partnerships for the Benefit of the Community.

Organize Events to Promote Fellowship and Sportsmanship.

In 2004, the Frontenac ATV Club began to campaign for recreational use of ATVs on
South Frontenac Township roads so that ATVs had equal road access as snowmobiles, bicycles and joggers. After years of public education, the South Frontenac Council voted in 2005 to approve a one year trial period for ATV use along township roads. In 2006, the South Frontenac Council led by Mayor Bill Lake voted 6 to 2 to make the ATV By-Law permanent.

In 2006, the South Frontenac ATV Club became the Frontenac ATV Club as we moved to better serve all ATV enthusiasists in Frontenac County. Our first oblective was to help the ATV Taxpayers of Central Frontenac gain access to township roads. In the same year, the Frontenac ATV Club approached the Central Frontenac Council to request Council consider enacting an ATV By-Law similiar to the S.F. By-Law. Within six months, the Central Frontenac Council led by Mayor Bill MacDonald passed an ATV By-Law by a vote of 6 to 2 Councillors.

The Frontenac ATV Club promotes many events in the community, including the Parham Fair, a Spring and Fall ATV Member Ride, and the K.F.L.& A. / OPP Safe and Sober Snow Rodeo. Our future goal is to increase multi-use trails throughout Frontenac County for the benefit of everyone in the community.
